planning is 50% done!

mid week, planning is semi done(well to be truthful...no planning, just a bunch of proposal writing)
to be damn truthful,MIT is so damn lucky for having so many people..we could actually take turns typing out the proposal and the others can take time to slack around.today was the best day even though today was the day i actually did work, and till late even.
brought my laptop today to ease the typing...with the laptop the people typing the proposal didn't need to move between the computer lab and the tutorial room where we chill. amazingly,we could play Uno and joke around.
MIT also treated our seniors to lunch :) (merci beaucoup our dear seniors vincent, sharon, wendy and christina who helped us with our proposals and were really kind to us)
after lunch, seniors Ivan and Eric came to play Uno. Ivan lost 2 times in a row and had forfeits...but he only did 1 since we were preoccupied to think of a 2nd forfeit...his forfeit was funny hahaha...
he was made to do the banana dance in block S hallway...hahaha..and laode taped the entire thing...i'm gonna die when he finds out i put this on the net lol
oh well...time to sleep...need all the rest i can get..
i'm at school longer than working adults now damn it!
i leave before my uncle, and come back after him...sighh..if this is working life, then i hate it >.<

unfortunate turn of events

after writing soo much the last post..sorry to say...i ain't gonna be posting the remaining parts mainly becuase..too lazy to say any stuff =P
anyway..to wrap it all up fast,we all "graduated" camp eagle and was supposedly the team with "the biggest heart",to quote sir kelvin. etc etc...went through big time hell on the last day with one of the biggest large group challenges,i actually grew darker over the course of these 2 days (can see the difference on my skin..whether it was under the shirt or the sun,but not too critical)...
result from camp eagle :
darker skin + aches all over my body + new friends
soo...only thing i can see are gains and no losses(doubt i lost any weight during that time haha, neither can i say i gained, but meh..that's normal for me =P )

anyways....planning for the orientation started today..very very rushed. last year's planning had 1.5 months...we,have 3 weeks tops...oh man..
so now..calling calling calling alllll MIT students in year 1 starting year 2 next semester, come sign up to be OGL/Helper,we gonna need all the help we can get for the orientation cos we need probably about 50 people. there are a total of 380 signups for MIT this year. hopefully we live up to MIT's orientation planning from last year. don't wanna let our seniors down!
ouff..good luck me >.<

Camp Eagle..omg..damn..haha

man..camp eagle,was,the least to say,god damn surprising..
but..before i go on...
Warning :: Long Post ahead(seriously long)

so go browse elsewhere unless u really got nothing else to do(or seriously bo liao)...
post starts from 18th..when i reported in for camp eagle..got there around 12.45 with laode, andy, huang and kailin..heh..was kinda late arriving, most people were already there..so we registered and headed in and plunked our bags in a room and went off for lunch..we were told to gather back at 1.15..but being the louts we are,had to arrive at 1.30+ heh...arrived while Sir Kelvin (some dude who plans nyp camps) was giving his intro speech(first event of me being extra in the camp >.<)
then after he finished talking, the president of club SIT(school of Technology) gave her own intro speech..she(forgot her name..heh =P) started talking of equality and standardization..and..extra part 2..i was the only person wearing a cap in the camp..so no cap during the camp for 3 days.
after that...we started the ice breaker game, which was played like Blow Wind Blow.
there had to be someone in the middle all the time..and the rest in a circle around him. the people in the circle were in pairs, one sitting/squatting down and one standing behind the one sitting down.the person in the middle will say "blow wind blow" and the people in the circle will go "blow what?"..then he will respond with something like "blow people wearing glasses". the those that are standing and matching what the person in the middle said will tap the shoulder of the person squatting/sitting and take the position of the sitter after he/she leaves. the person that gets tapped on the shoulder has to run off and look for a sitting person who doesn't have anybody behind him/her and take the position there..and it went on and on. the forfeit for getting caught was getting colgate on their faces. eventually the rules changed slightly but it remained that way.
then sir kelvin explained that we would be divided in top 8 groups and there would be some events going on where we can gather points for our group and we would see at the camp which team is the best and the worst. each group were asked to choose a 3 syllable movie for their name. Among the names chosen was Chicken Run,Sahara,Spiderman,Superman etc. i was in group 8,and we called ourself, The Matrix..lol..crude i know.then each member introduced themself. (can't remember most tho lol..)some names i can remember was Jing Yi,Fadzuly(i think that's the spelling),Min,Sallehin,Thomas,JY,Shu Ting,Theresa,Fauziah,Xie San(i think lol).after that all teams worked on their cheers.i am not going to say what my group's cheer was...lol..cos i'm kinda embarrassed and bored of it.anyways..we were then briefed on our first group event. it was called Mission Possible 1. we were given 10 pieces of paper and were told to make..(drum roll)..paper airplanes! damn..like primary school all over again. our task was to make paper airplanes and hopefully they would fly over a certain point to gain points. we were the best..we had 8 points hehe..we rocked that game. second team game was Last Man Standing. there were 25 squares on the ground and each group sent one representative at a time. the point was that each person takes turns to jump from square to square. any person who was in the same column or row as the person who jumped would be eliminated from the game. the last person standing would be the winner of that round. we didn't do so well in this game :( but still managed to be the second team overall for the whole day.
After dinner, we had our second team game...it was the extreme relay.this game was a real bitch.there were a total of 7 stations. at station one,the first person had to spin 10 rounds and then run to station 2 and feed the person half a bar of Mars. after the person finishes the Mars,he has to tap the guy standing next to him who will run off with 10 runners(a sort of rope thingie with carabiners(dunno whether i spelt that right)) hooked onto a rope strung around their body to a long rope with 10 loops. after hooking the runners onto that rope, they would tap the next person who had to hop over mouse traps and eggs. then tap the next person who had to blow a ping pong ball over a distance of 1.5 m then tap another person. this person had 3 match sticks to try and light as many of 7 candles as possible. after that..the hardest task, connecting 5 thin pipes together then taking them apart again after that...and while ur doing that there will be a bright flashing light going on distracting u. my group's first attempt wasn't so well...but on attempt number 2 we ruled with a time of 3minutes and 36 seconds and god knows how many miliseconds. after that we did quite well on the bonus round where the rules were slightly different and harder. but on overall we were second.so in total,we were the first team for the day :)
we went for our bath after that...only cold water brrr...and went to sleep..was hard to sleep on the floor even with a sleeping bag.
Day 2
woke up at 6.30 am and went go brush teeth etc. gathered for breakfast and then sir kelvin briefed us on the biggest game he has ever planned. Campus Gyro, covering the entire campus on any floor accesible by stairs. we weren't allowed to use lifts/escalators..ugh....also..we had 10 stations to find, and a task to perform at each station. we had from 9.25am till 6 pm to complete the tasks.not to mention each group was split in 2 to perform the tasks.finding the stations was usually easy but finding the passwords to get the task was the tough part...we usually had to do some forfeits to get clues with inclusion of an added 3 minutes added into our total time. funniest thing was,we were given the wrong clue at one time and went to our last station way before we completed. after completing our task the station master told us all we had to do was get there after we completed all our other tasks and get his signature. he was good enough to deduct 10 minutes out of our time for the trouble caused. Least to say,our team did a lot of push ups,sit ups, jumping jacks and star jumps that day.not to mention all the walking we did around campus...using only stairs! man..an experience indeed. we managed to get the clue for station 9 right at the 6pm mark, and didn't manage to do the task cos we ran outta time.theresa managed to go on for over 6 hours with a strained wrist..strong gal..haha..our team also went without lunch. we headed back and met up with the other half of our group. best of all..we had a dinner buffet(would have eaten lots if my stomach wasn't so filled with air :( ..). after that, sir kelvin announced the winners of the Campus Gyro...and when the result came out,the entire team went "huh?!"...the winners were.....Team 8! wee...that lifted our spirits and made everyone clueless haha. that cemented our place in the rankings hehe.
After a lil rest,we had our last group game together, darts and dare.the object of the game was that one representative of the group went up at a time to toss a dart and see how much marks u would get. the group with the lowest marks for that throw had to go up and remove one glass from a pyramid made up of small glasses.and these glasses were small and shaped like wine glasses. there was a red one at the top which wasn't allowed to be moved. the team that made the red glass drop had to minus 15 points from their total overall score(which meant they would automatically be the worst team)..and if there are any glasses standing around without a glass on top of it,it would be removed. it went on and on till Team 3 accidentally dropped the red glass. in the end, guess who got first place for the entire camp..hehe..team 8!! yay...anyway..team 3 was the lowest team and had to eat bread that had wasabi in it. team 8 on the other hand got 2 packets of nougats as treats ehe...and of course, jing yi had to have a soft spot and shared some nougats with team 3(we were actually cheered for that) and after that..the entire camp chanted for team 8 to share the bread O.o ..being the kind people we are(cough cough) we went and did it...haha..damn it..jing yi,discuss next time la!
if u think that was the end of camp eagle, think again! it goes on!!
sir kelvin then said that we were no longer in our individual groups, but now one large group. Theresa and Andrew(leader of team 3,who really incidentally reminded me of derrick in terms of looks) were elected leaders of the combined group. the game we had on our hands that night was Tower of Atlantis. there were 2 PVC pipes set up which had holes in them, and 1 ping pong ball in each. there were also 8 pails set up around the area.2 people were supposed to be stationed at each pail filling up small bags with water to make waterbombs. then 5 pairs of people were allowed to make a lane between the pail and the central area where 4 people would catch the waterbombs and fill the pvc pipes till the balls came out. the catch was that we needed people to cover the holes in the pipe.and any person touching the pipe had to carry an egg along with them throughout the entire time.and the eggs are not supposed to get cracked/broken. and u know what...i've typed so much and i'm lazy..be back some other time to explain more.

amazing i even managed to type this much with the fact that i have aches in my arms, neck, abs and legs...arghhh..

You have an extremely good understanding of beginner, intermediate, and advanced level commonly confused English words, getting at least 75% of each of these three levels' questions correct. This is an exceptional score. Remember, these are commonly confused English words, which means most people don't use them properly. You got an extremely respectable score.

Thank you so much for taking my test. I hope you enjoyed it!
