large gatherings of family members usually call for great celebration
...usually lol
nevertheless, there were over a hundred descendants who came for lau ma(great grandma)'s funeral..and that was somewhat of a celebration already
its really interesting to see how everybody acts during a funeral. not to mention this was a full teo chiew funeral so there was a lot of stuff going on and that needed to be done which id not done before. not to mention how she was actually supposed to have a "red" funeral rather than a "white" funeral as she was 94(97 in chinese) and had 5 generations of descendants(actually 6..apparently, you have a bonus +1 generation when you pass on)..so it was kinda more like a half red half white funeral(you can msn me for the full details)
i had a lot of free time to think while doing stuff during the funeral. ranging from time vs life, to relations one has. im pretty much too lazy to write it all down, and also cant remember everything. but i really do believe, one is pretty much defined by what you are and what you have done rather than what you have.
and my great granny, man what a woman. 11 kids, chain smoker(1 pack a day O_o) and she lived till this old age. i dont normally advocate smoking but her health seemingly defies logical explanation. and we were told, that she might have been holding on till chinese new year was over so we could all celebrate it rather than mourn. makes you wonder huh?
its feb 24 already. degree starts on apr 7th, closing date for reg is march 7th. i need to find a part time job ASAP, sigh.
march feels so far away, yet its close by. and im waiting to find out......
