not in the past, yet unable to focus on the path ahead
i started planting many seeds, as the open barrenness was too much of a reminder
they sprout, and i am surrounded...but the pang is still there
and yes it seems, for every 2 steps forward, a thin line yanks me back 3 steps
and yet i keep that thread, that which holds strong despite the size
and i truly know i would make an about turn in a split second
